The apparel industry is fast paced, highly competitive, seasonal, and driven by constantly changing fashion trends. Apparel displays are essential for survival in physical retail stores. To be effective, apparel displays need to be flexible and configurable to continue to be useful and relevant as products change in accordance with the fashion cycle.

Welcome to Part III of our blog series on apparel displays that maximize sales and build brands. In Part I and Part II of our series, we reviewed 20 examples covering a wide range of styles and types of apparel displays. In today’s post, we’ll cover the last 10 examples with an eye toward the attributes that make these displays successful. Let’s get started.

  1. Eagle Creek Gondola Display– Our first 4 examples are intended to showcase a family of fixtures we designed to merchandise Eagle Creek’s diverse line of travel gear. The gondola display shown below features a metal tube frame with solid wood trim, slotted MDF center panels, hooks, metal shelves, waterfalls, and wood-framed graphics on the sides, header and center panel.

  1. Eagle Creek Extended HRACK– The extended HRACK shown below is a simpler, more cost-effective mobile merchandiser than our first example. Constructed of solid pine wood and metal slatgrid panels, this display can accommodate a wide range of hanging accessories and is an ideal fixture for merchandising travel-related products. The display includes explanatory graphics on each grid panel and hanging logo graphics on the ends.

  1. Eagle Creek Pinwheel– Another variation we designed that incorporated slatgrid panels is the pinwheel configuration shown below. We used a similar style with metal grid panels and wood frames, graphics at the top of each panel, and hanging logo signs on 4 sides.

  1. Eagle Creek Pinwheel Variation– We designed a second pinwheel variation that did not have a round base as shown above but shared many of the other design features of our example above.

  1. Shimano Cross-Merchandising Floor Display– We made the Shimano floor display shown below to merchandise fishing poles on the right as well as caps and apparel items on the left. The product mix works together perfectly for cross merchandising. We combined wood and metal by using slotted metal uprights on the left that worked with cap pockets, waterfalls, and other accessories. On the right we used a connected wood fixture for the fishing poles. We direct printed the graphics on the wood parts to ensure the fixture was well branded.

  1. The Dessy Group Loop Dress Fixture– The Dessy Group was looking for a 4-sided fixture to introduce its new Loop dress. The dress is sold in plastic bags so the fixture needed shelves for the product as well as a faceout to show a hanging dress. We built the structure out of MDF with a white melamine finish and added direct printed graphics to show models wearing the dress. Two views of the fixture are shown below.

  1. Slatwall T-shirt Cubby Cabinet– While admittedly not the most exciting apparel display from a visual standpoint, the t-shirt cubby cabinet display shown below is both highly practical and functional. Shown closed and open below, the cabinet includes a graphic of the t-shirt on the outside and includes rear hanging slatwall brackets. It’s one way to keep the t-shirt wall looking tidy at all times.

  1. Highway 21 Floor Display– We like the way the torched wood combines with the metal structure on this display. We used 4-sided slotted upright columns and a center hanging bar to give this display ultimate configurability. It works with shelves, side signs, faceouts, waterfalls, and other accessories. The dimensional header creates visual interest and draws attention to the brand. It is shown below in 3 different configurations.

  1. Bulwark Floor Display– The Bulwark display shown below is intended to merchandise a variety of uniform garments. The branded, raised hanging bar is ideal for hanging full-length garments. We included a perforated sheet metal pegboard panel to capture a more industrial vibe. We incorporated a knock-down design and included shelves for folded garments as well as framed PVC header signs.

  1. Wrangler Workwear Modular Wall– Our intent for the modular wall shown below was to create a freestanding wall unit that featured heavy branding while also showcasing 2 levels of hanging product. To accomplish this, we utilized a metal tube structure, direct printed PVC panels, and chrome hang bars.
