Apparel displays have an inherent advantage relative to many other types of POP displays. The advantage is that they are naturally interactive. One of the main objectives in designing POP displays is to engage customers in a way that leads to a purchase decision. Making a display interactive is perhaps the best way to engage customers. We typically do this by incorporating a video, showing a product out of the box that the customer can touch and feel, or offering testers whereby the customer can actually try the product.

However, with most apparel displays we don’t have to worry about creating interactivity because apparel products are generally merchandised in a way that enables the customer to touch the product and even try it on. Aside from interactivity, there are a number of design features that can help make an apparel display successful, including configurability, prominent branding, product carrying capacity, cross merchandising functionality, and visual appeal. Welcome to Part I of our 3-part blog series on apparel displays in which we will look at a number of these key success factors through the lens of 30 examples. In today’s post, we’ll show the first 10 examples.

  1. Vuori Floor Display– Vuori’s superb line of performance apparel warranted a high-end fixture with a simple and clean look. We constructed the 4-sided fixture out of pre-finished birch and added an MDF topper with a gloss white painted finish. We embedded shelf standards for hang rails, shelves and faceouts and added 3D acrylic logos on 4 sides with a 2-sided lifestyle header graphic. The fixture is shown below without product and also fully merchandised in a retail environment.
Well-designed apparel displays build on their natural interactivity to drive sales, build brands, and achieve attractive ROIs. Check out these 30 examples.

With slotted uprights on 4 sides, this fixture accommodates a variety of accessories including sheet metal shelves, faceouts, waterfalls, and cap pockets. We set the fixture on a wood base with a dimensional 3D wood header and lifestyle graphic.

  1. Adidas Slatwall Display– Slatwall displays are highly versatile for merchandising apparel, but they are a dime a dozen in the world of apparel retail. We tried to make the 2-sided Adidas slatwall display a little different by using independent horizontal wood panels with a grey textured artisan finish. We added a standard PVC header sign. The fixture is below with an assortment of accessories, including a shoe shelf, cap pockets, hooks, and  a waterfall.

This rugged 4-sided display features solid pine construction with customized slatwall and a golden oak finish. We included a PVC header sign and hooks for merchandising product.
