Project Background

In 2020, Niemann Foods launched a new grocery concept, the Harvest Market, aiming to reinvigorate the grocery shopping experience. With strong competition throughout the Midwest, Niemann Foods needed to find new ways to compete, and set out to create a store that was a destination for consumer, not just a grocery trip.

The Harvest Market stores provide an opportunity to educate shoppers about the sustainable food chain and champion small producers, manufacturers and farmers – customers encounter the Farmhouse restaurant, a butter churning station and a series of featured “Farm Finds” merchandising areas that enliven center store aisles.

Project Highlights

Agility Retail produced all the décor elements using material substitutions that greatly reduced cost, weight and installation time. Items such as hanging trellises, case top fencing, barn doors and even milk crates were made from lightweight materials. Faux finishing and printing techniques gave the illusion that they were made from real wood or metal. We also supplied stock metal fixture products from our ecommerce sister company (dgsretail.com), wood fixtures from our plant in Wisconsin, and provided the installation.

Customer Success

Our creative cost reduction techniques saved Niemann Foods tens of thousands of dollars on the package. The store looks fantastic, and their customers have no idea that those wood elements suspended above are not real wood and that they weigh just a few pounds each.
