Project Background
Over the last five years, supply chains have evolved and changed, often with manufacturers and suppliers attempting to streamline their operations, or exiting lower margin fulfillment or warehousing business. On occasions, this has made it more difficult for the end customer to order and receive products.
In 2023, Dollar Tree approached Agility Retail and outlined that their supplier of fixtures was no longer offering a drop-ship service. Our client wanted to roll out two specific gondola sets nationwide and asked us if we could handle all the logistical requirements, including consolidation, packing and distribution of all the product.
Agility Retail has done multiple rollouts for Dollar Tree over the years, and we used that expertise, plus our flexibility, size and scale, to help out a customer that had no other alternative.

Project Highlights
The Agility Retail team had just eight weeks to receive eighty trailer loads of bulk packed product. Our dedicated warehouse and logistics team had to sort and pack two large pallets per store and ship to 3,500 locations.
In order to satisfy our customer, we created a dedicated 60,000 square foot space in our Chicago warehouse and over twenty employees to pack and load these shipments. Over 350 outbound trailers left our building at a rate of 15 trailers per day. Trucks had to be loaded based on store proximity to make the deliveries as efficient as possible.
Customer Success
The Dollar Tree rollout was a huge success and the client was extremely grateful that Agility Retail was able to assist when another vendor could not. This was the first time in our history where we performed a large rollout without having produced a single item.
